A restored 1880 church · Clifton Forge, Virginia
The historic church Harry Firmstone built for the community in 1880 — reborn as an intimate event center for smaller weddings and celebrations of up to 75 guests.
Made for smaller gatherings
With room for up to 75 guests, the Nave is built for events where every face is one you know.
Walk the aisle of a restored 1874 church, then celebrate beneath its historic charm and soaring mahogany ceilings.
Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, and showers — gathered in one memorable place.
Small off-sites, board dinners, and team retreats, with rooms at the manor just around the corner.
Galas, fundraisers, recitals, and gatherings that bring the Highlands together.
The Space
In 1880, Harry Firmstone raised a church for the people of Longdale Furnace Iron Company. Now, a careful renovation is bringing that same sanctuary back to life as The Nave — its historic charm, soaring mahogany ceilings, and original woodwork preserved.
The venue is built around two spaces: the chapel for your ceremony, and a separate room for cocktails, dining, and dancing — an easy, unhurried flow for gatherings of up to 75.

Just around the corner
Firmstone Manor sits just around the corner from the church, where The Inn at Firmstone Manor offers updated modern private cottages — so the celebration can carry on from rehearsal dinner to farewell breakfast.
